Remember That I Love You: the Heartweaver letter that takes the long way home
The Ruins of Lordaeron quest story behind Edward, Tabitha and Jeremy Heartweaver, the letter sent to Avette Fellwood, and the promise left at the end.
Coverage:

The quest story from our own dungeon episode, with our interpretation kept separate from what the characters and documents say.
Tabitha is waiting for someone who keeps going back
Edward Heartweaver returns to the graveyard in the Ruins of Lordaeron every week, looking for the son his family lost when Arthas razed the city. They never found the boy’s body. His wife Tabitha has tried to keep Edward away from a place still held by dangerous creatures, but grief and guilt keep sending him back. This time, days pass without his return, and she asks an adventurer to look for him.
A Frightened Request is the Horde side of the story. Tabitha is a Forsaken woman in Silverpine Forest, waiting for news of her husband. The quest’s completion thanks the player and hopes for a less sorrowful meeting in the future. It does not spell out Edward’s fate or bring her the news that her son survived. That boundary matters: the quest leaves an absence, not a narrated death scene.

The letter names its own intended reader
The Alliance thread begins with torn, stained parchment in the graveyard. It becomes Remember That I Love You, and the carried item is the Blood-Stained Letter. Edward addresses it to Tabitha. He apologizes for failing to protect their boy, describes the grief he cannot escape and remembers being grateful to come home to her after each frightening trip into the ruins.
His son’s name is not written in the letter’s readable text. The connection to Jeremy comes from the quest and the person who recognizes the family. The task sends the paper to Orphan Matron Nightingale in Stormwind, rather than back to Tabitha. An intimate farewell is now travelling through people who know different pieces of the same family.

Nightingale knows the boy his father could not find
Nightingale recognizes Jeremy Heartweaver. He reached the orphanage years earlier after the attack on Lordaeron. As far as she knows, both parents were lost. The player who also knows Tabitha’s request can see the gap between those accounts: Jeremy survived in Stormwind while his Forsaken mother remained in Silverpine and his father kept returning to the graveyard.
Jeremy has recently left the orphanage. Avette Fellwood in Duskwood adopted him, so the next stage carries the letter to her. Nightingale also asks the player to tell Jeremy that the people at the orphanage are thinking of him. The two faction perspectives never meet in these quests. That separation reveals how little each character knows; it does not establish that a reunion is impossible or explain every reason news failed to travel.
DIFFERENT PIECES OF THE STORY
Tabitha asks for news of Edward after his repeated searches in the ruins.
Nightingale identifies Jeremy; the letter continues to Avette in Duskwood.

Other keepsakes bring out different answers
The ruins hold more than Edward’s paper. General Marcus Jonathan wants old soldiers’ insignias returned to living relatives. In the Undercity, Oran Snakewrithe checks a recovered crest by biting it, then calls it a relic of their home and promises to care for it. Lady Dena Kennedy in Stormwind also sees history worth restoring. These are particular people finding value in what the ruined city has left behind.
Unending Torment supplies a harsher story. Apothecary Faranell identifies the abomination’s head as Othmar, whom he describes as a former Alliance Grand Marshal. Faranell wants his secrets and prepares a serum intended to bind him to the Dark Lady’s will. This is an explicit attempt at coercion. Our reading is that the side quests make the recovery of a person or object less automatically comforting. They do not make every Forsaken character alike, or prove anything about Avette’s intentions.

The delivery ends before the boy receives it
Avette accepts the letter, but says Jeremy is not ready to read it. She reports Nightingale’s account that he has not spoken since the attack on Lordaeron. Avette does not want to force him and believes the letter would cause further pain now. Those are her assessment and her explanation, not a diagnosis supplied by the story’s narrator.
She says she will not hide his past and promises to give him the letter when he is older. The player is thanked and asked to leave. The reward is a Tarnished Locket, whose text says, “Some memories are best forgotten.” That line is the item’s description, not a statement spoken by Avette or proof that she destroys the letter. Our interpretation is that the ending leaves an uncomfortable decision with the new guardian: a message can be recovered and delivered, yet still not reach the person whose life it concerns. These two quests end with Avette holding it; they do not show what she eventually does.
