RACE CHOICES · ROGUE
Best race for Rogue in WoW Forever?
Start with the utility you want to use. Compare the compatible racial toolkits, then choose the character you want to play.
There is no sourced universal winner in this guide. The PvE and PvP notes below are our conditional utility assessment; exact mechanics retain their client and official-update sources.
YOUR CLASS, FIRST
What matters for a Rogue?
Close combat, combo-point attacks, stealth and disruption. Its recorded toolkit includes Sinister Strike and Kick. Inspect the class guide for individual requirements and separate role paths.
PvE damage windows
Compare active offensive windows with your own cooldowns. These are toolkit suggestions; the page does not simulate final damage.
PvP control answers
Choose the effects you want an extra answer to. A stun removal, root escape and curse removal solve different problems.
Recovery & exploring
Look at the conditions: a corpse, an uninterrupted channel, sustained movement or a blessing can matter more than a headline percentage.
A racial percentage is not a measured percentage gain to your overall performance.

Alliance

Human
Ruthless supplies 1% critical chance across spells and attacks. The Human Spirit raises Spirit by 10%; its regeneration value depends on the class and situation.
Will to Survive removes stuns, while Perception helps detect hidden enemies. Those are different tools and have separate uses.

Dwarf
Stoneform is a defensive option against its listed effects. Artisan’s Precision (since October 26) adds 1% hit chance, while Big Game Hunter applies only to Beasts.
Stoneform is worth comparing when Bleeds, Poisons or Diseases are the problem. It does not remove every magical debuff.

Night Elf
Elune’s Light is an active critical-chance window. Shadowmeld’s in-combat wording does not establish a guaranteed threat or combat reset.
Quickness adds movement and dodge, and gives Rogues and Druids its Stealth benefit. Shadowmeld ends when you move.

Gnome
Eureka is a short offensive window with exclusions for periodic effects. Expansive Mind changes the resource pool your class uses.
Escape Artist answers movement-impairing effects and briefly protects against them. It is not a general stun or Fear removal.

Skyborne (High Order)
Upgrade race · access requirements ↗
Wind Blessed supplies 2% passive haste; Read Leyline gives 50% regeneration for 15 seconds, or 100% while Attuned. It cannot be used while Innervate is active.
Walk on Air adds a limited downward glide. Read Leyline is regeneration, so compare it with your class’s recovery rules rather than treating it as an instant heal.
Horde

Orc
Consider Blood Fury when you want an offensive cooldown to pair with your class’s own damage window. Command (since October 26) adds 5% pet damage for Hunters and Warlocks; other classes get no passive damage bonus.
Hardiness shortens stuns; Shatter Curse answers Curses and Banes. Compare those specific effects with the control you expect to face.

Undead
Cannibalize can help recovery between pulls when a suitable corpse and a safe opening are available. Touch of the Grave is a proc rather than a button you can time.
Will of the Forsaken answers Charm, Fear and Sleep. Its value depends on those control types appearing in the matchups you play.

Troll
Berserking is a spellcasting and attack-speed window. Beast Slaying is conditional on fighting Beasts, rather than a general damage bonus.
Rapid Regeneration needs a safe channel: movement, actions or damage stop it. Consider whether your class can create that opening.

Skyborne (Windshaper)
Upgrade race · access requirements ↗
Wind Blessed supplies 2% passive haste, while Elemental Insight applies only against Elementals. Skysight (15%, or 30% while Charged, for 15 seconds) and Walk on Air add travel options.
Skysight is a movement blessing and Walk on Air is a controlled downward glide. Their descriptions do not establish unrestricted flight or a universal control break.
